Fifth Quarter

First Baptist Church of Independence puts on a Fifth Quarter event immediately following many Grayson County High School home football games.  The event usually includes a guest speaker, devotional, food, fun and games!  It is located at the church at 109 Hillcrest Ave in Independence.

Easter Egg Hunt

First Baptist Church of Independence has an annual Easter Egg Hunt. This event is open to everyone who would like to participate.

Esther’s Closet (Prom Dresses)

First Baptist Church of Independence puts on an annual Esther’s Closet Prom Dress Extravaganza to provide prom dresses (and some shoes) free of charge to students who wish to participate.  Punch will be served and dressing rooms will be available.

After Prom Party

First Baptist Church of Independence puts on an after prom party for Grayson County High School and is open to all students that attend the prom.

Typically, the party begins at 12 pm and ends after the grand prize drawing at 3 am.  Festivities include music by a DJ, dancing, minute-to-win-it games, rook, a corn hole tournament and food and drinks.  Everyone who attends will get a t-shirt and a party favor bag.

A signed waiver and guidelines form must be signed by the attendee and a parent or guardian prior to the prom.  It is the attendee’s responsibility to make sure their guest is aware of the needed waiver and guidelines form.  No person will be admitted without this signed waiver and guidelines form.  Attendees can obtain forms for them and their guest at the office.
